Welded mesh is the most widely specified security fencing in the UK, and for good reason. It gives you a strong, climb resistant boundary you can still see through, which matters on any site where staff need to supervise, or where CCTV needs a clear view.
We supply and install mesh fence panels across West and South Yorkshire: schools and academy trusts, industrial and commercial sites, sports facilities and MUGAs. Supply only is available if you have your own installation team.

Which mesh fencing system do you need?
There are four systems we fit most often, and the right one depends on what the fence has to survive.
Twin wire 656 is the workhorse. Rigid, difficult to cut, and it holds its line for decades. The usual choice for school and commercial boundaries.
V mesh has horizontal V profiles pressed into the panel for stiffness without heavy framing. Lighter, cleaner looking, and a sensible option where budget matters more than maximum resistance.
358 mesh, often called prison mesh, has a 76mm by 12.5mm aperture that is finger proof, anti climb and very hard to cut. This is what to specify where the threat is real.
Rolltop and safetop have a rounded top rail instead of exposed wire ends, which is why they are the standard for MUGAs, ball courts and anywhere a ball or a child might meet the fence.
Everything is galvanised, with powder coating available in a range of RAL colours. Green RAL 6005 is the usual choice for schools and parkland. Heights, posts and fixings are modular, so the specification gets matched to the site rather than the other way around.

Sturdy and ideal for playgrounds
Profiled Wire VMesh
The horizontal V profiles pressed into each panel give it rigidity without needing a heavy frame, so the fence stays strong while children can still see out and staff can still see in.
V mesh resists cutting, climbing and general abuse, and the clean profile suits sites where the boundary is in full view. It is a sensible choice for busy playgrounds and any run where you want strength without bulk.
A secure option for schools
Twin 656 Mesh Panel
Twin wire 656 is the system we fit most often. Two horizontal wires either side of each vertical give it real rigidity, and it works for security, demarcation and sports up to 4.0m. Visibility through the panel is excellent and there are no hiding places along the fence line.
Panels are welded at every intersection, so they take impact and vandalism without deforming. The top can be finished flush or barbed depending on what the site needs.
Heights run from 1.2m to over 4m. Posts are 60 x 60mm square hollow section at 2.525m centres with factory fitted inserts. Panels fix with steel brackets and tamper proof bolts, with clamping strips available where extra security is wanted.

Super sturdy. Great for sports applications
Roll Safetop Mesh
Rolltop and safetop panels finish with a rounded top rail instead of exposed wire ends, which is why they are the standard choice for school internal boundaries, ball courts and MUGAs.
Usually fitted at 1.2m to create a safe corridor or to separate one part of a site from another, and taller around sports areas. You get clear visibility through the panel, high rigidity, and a tidy finished edge with nothing sharp at the top.
Who does the work
Airedale Fencing has been installing fencing across Yorkshire for over 35 years and has secured more than 300 schools. We are CHAS certified, CHAS-0024323, and SSIP assessed through PQS. Our installation team is Enhanced DBS checked and carries recognised site cards (CSCS, ADIA, ECS or GateSafe), which matters when the work is happening on a live school site.
We do our own groundworks rather than subcontracting them, so one company is accountable from survey to handover.
Where we work
We are based in Bradford and cover roughly an hour from BD10. That takes in Leeds, Bradford, Wakefield, Huddersfield, Halifax, Harrogate and York, and reaches into South Yorkshire for Sheffield, Rotherham, Barnsley and Doncaster.
For school and academy trust work see school fencing. For industrial, retail and main contractor sites see commercial fencing, and for site boundaries generally see perimeter fencing. Matching gates, manual or automated, are covered under gate automation and access control.
We have gates to complement each fencing range
From manual, automated and robust access control solutions, we’ve got you covered!
